We would like to bring your attention to quite the important event! Today is Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day.

An unfortunate fact of life is that some ducks don't make it to our stores in tip-top shape (see picture for evidence). Rubber duckies get sent to us with all sorts of odd deformities. We do our best to take care of these duckies, often finding homes in the strangest places: under desks, behind cash registers, you name it!

In addition to the protection the rubber duck population, bubble wrap is endlessly fun and even more endlessly annoying to those you love ;-) It is truly worthy of your appreciation!

Nuclear Science Week - Duck of the Day #234

Today is National Nuclear Science Week. Nuclear science has earned a pretty rough reputation over the years, but it's not all bad! Nuclear science is simply any science involving the nucleus of cells. This includes research in areas like weapons and power, but also consists of a much wider field including medicine and engineering!

There are many things you use today which are only here as a result of research of the nucleus. I cannot find indisputable evidence, but I'm pretty sure rubber ducks are some of them!! (Please comment if you know more about it)

Happy Chinese New year! Today is a celebration of renewal and the coming of spring in many traditional Chinese cultures. Many festivities have slowly traveled around the world and the holiday is now celebrated to varying degrees in countries all around the world.

This year is the Year of the Dragon, which allows for some great imagery and lots of fun. If you know of any Chinese New Year's Celebrations don't hesitate to go out and have some fun, just don't forget to take this ducky along for the ride!

You all are probably aware of this by now, but at Quacker Gift Shop we love animals! All shapes and sizes are welcome. Today is Bald Eagle Appreciation Day, an animal which has been a symbol of the United States for since 1782.

It is a truly majestic bird that, until relatively recently, has been listed as an endangered species. It's a fantastic bird, and a wonderful symbol for the country!

Hello Quacker Fans! We are bringing the Duck of the Day to the Adventures with Quacky blog. We aren't currently planning on removing the tradition from Facebook because we know we have loyal fans. We just want to be able to open it up to new duck lovers who may not use Facebook, or who don't know about our Facebook page. Hope you enjoy!

The first Duck of the Day to reach the blog is a Black Friday ducky. Black Friday is, of course, a day to get out and buy all your Christmas presents (or just take advantage of all the deals).

The August Giveaway has been going on for a almost two weeks now and only four people have entered. That's a terribly low number! All you need to do is take a picture of your favorite ducky and post it on our Facebook page. If you can’t find a picture you can just type up a description and post that instead.

For example: If you love the earth, and taking care of it in responsible ways you could post a picture like the one at the top of this article!

This giveaway is a $50 gift certificate usable in the stores or online! It’s so easy to enter and we are feeling lonely with our four participants.

This has been a fantastic week for us! It started off on Monday with a CNN Money article written about our success and the Quacker business as a whole. We would like to welcome all of the Quacktastic fans that we've gained through the article!

Duck of the Day – A mystery for now.

We are starting a new tradition at Quacker Gift Shop. Every day we are going to pick one duck from our collection, and declare it the duck of the day. They will be posted to Facebook, and Twitter. Hopefully we will be able to explain why each duck belongs with the day that it's on, but it might be difficult! Once the tradition has been started we will be looking for help from anyone who would like to give suggestions for duck of the day. Just choose the duck, the day, and why you think they belong together!! We will be checking the blog, Facebook, and Twitter for ideas so feel free to use any or all to let us know about which ducks you think are deserving of this Quacktacular title!

The first Duck of the Day will be posted today! Keep a look out!

The Manitou Springs Quacker Gift Shop is now OPEN!!

Our hard work is paying off! Today we get to open a second store at 738 Manitou Ave. in Manitou Springs. Our goal was to make the second Quacker Gift Shop just as special as the first, and our hopes are that the store will flourish in such a wonderful environment. We want to make our store part of the Manitou Springs community as well as part of the experience involved in visiting the area.

The new store will have a famous “wall of ducks” as well as the standby specialty duck selections, duck goodies of all sorts, and our very own Delish Bodyworks line of soaps. In addition to all of the usual suspects, this new store will branch out into some more “standard” gift shop items. For the most part we will be focusing on bringing Colorado-made products of all types into the store (only good things can come from supporting local business right??).

We will be working hard over Memorial Day weekend making sure the new store runs smoothly and keeping both stores comfortable and fun; but that doesn’t mean we don’t want to see you! Stop by, enjoy yourself, and be amazed by the extensive and fantastic collection of Quackers. We have ducks of all sizes, suitable for all ages, that can bring a smile to absolutely anyone!! :-)

Before the big day on May 27^th, the building will be getting an all new paint job, as well as quite a few other improvements. It looks a little messy now, but soon it will be the perfect home for the second edition of your favorite Ducky Super Store! The new Quacker Gift Shop will feature all of the usual Quacktacular products, as well as some new ones. We will be carrying a line of jewelry by 180° Design and some scrumptious hot sauce, condiments, and mixers made by Denver’s own Danny Cash.
