Reflecting on a year gone by can be both humbling and rejoice-full. Looking back 365 days I can’t believe everything Steve and I have accomplished. Our year started at the National Western Stock Show 14 hours a day for 16 days, I didn’t think we could work any harder, but we did! School started again, the show schedule was nonstop, we continued to build the online business, but the real work started in June when we signed a lease for our first retail location, the store was completely remodeled to fit Quacker Gift Shop, Delish Body Works, Quacker Baby and Quacker Bouquet. All in all, we constructed a store to house thousands of ducks and handmade soap products. On Aug 29th Quacker Gift Shop officially opened at 3440 S. Broadway in Englewood, Colorado. From the day we opened the store was a success, but the hard work continued, we had to finish our show schedule plus taking care of our store and preparing for the all important holiday season. Good news! We lived and the store is beautiful, but not without the help of all our friends and family that came to help. WE LOVE YOU!
Looking forward to 2010, we will continue to work long hours but we are also focusing on our family and personal growth (unfortunately that was left out last year). As small business owners the work/family balance will always be a challenge, but both Steve and I have realized how important it is to keep your body and mind as sharp and productive as the business.
